Treatment Therapies

E4 Body clinic offer a multitude of treatment therapies designed to treat the body as a whole. We DO NOT just focus on the symptoms, such as the pain and the problem area; we also treat the cause of the problems simultaneously by applying the appropriate treatment method or a combination of treatment methods.

All the techniques involved within our treatment sessions are very safe, and do not involve dangerous and forceful manipulations of any kind, such as the forceful cracking of bones.

Treatment Costs and Duration

Treatment sessions are charged at £50 per session for 60 mins and £30 per session for 30 mins.

TuiNa
(Physical Therapy and Manipulation Techniques)

TuiNa is great to release stress and tension, re-educate the body and eliminate aches and pains to ensure that you stay pain free. This is done by gentle techniques to correct physical imbalances by stretching and unwinding the body to re-align the muscular and skeletal systems.

The practice of massage (Anmo) and Physical Therapy (TuiNa) possibly pre-dates Acupuncture, as it is a very natural thing to be comforted by touch. It is the oldest form of healing known to mankind, which is used to promote growth, repair and drainage.

Massage is a great way to ease off any tight muscles and leave you feeling healthy and relaxed afterwards and can work wonders to help both with physical pain and mental stress.

TuiNa is a broad term that covers many areas of healing, such as, acupressure, joint mobilisation, cranial and sacral balancing, muscle testing, deep organ massage and Qi gung (energy work).

By using gentle muscle tests to help diagnose the problem areas, a pattern of dysfunction can be built up which could then be corrected by using a gentle re-pattern applied to the body, amending all physical imbalances and mental traumas.

All previous weak tests should then prove strong. Therefore patients are hopefully able to see an immediate response to the treatment.

The techniques which are applied in TuiNa are very gentle and do not involve dangerous and forceful manipulations of any kind, such as the cracking of bones. Due to the dynamic effect of this treatment, it has a wonderful impact on both physical and mental aspects of any illness.

Cranial-Sacral Therapy

The skull has 8 cranial bones and 14 facial bones and they all move independently, however when we are under stress or physical disturbance these bones can jam, which then affects our body’s well being.

This is a gentle therapy that can be used on anyone of any age. It is good for relieving stress and tension plus many other things.

These two techniques can be used for many purposes, such as relieving stress and tension, balancing and re-shaping the skeletal system and help to ensure that you stay pain free.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping TherapyCupping is a form of deep tissue massage, which pulls the skin upwards instead of pressing the skin down, like massage does. Cupping has a similar effect to deep massage but without causing the unbearable pain that deep massage can do.

The idea is the flame produces heat which creates a vacuum within these special glass cups by burning the oxygen, which when placed on the body draws the skin up inside the cup and releases off tight muscles, removes blood stagnation held in the muscles, increases the circulation of blood and the flow of Qi (energy) and removes toxins held in the muscles.

In China, the cups can be left on a patient from
5-15 minutes, but this can cause dark purple colour marks in the form of circles to be left on the skin, especially if the muscles are very tight and stagnated or if the patient has a lot of toxins within their body.

Therefore in England we tend to use 'flash cupping' where the cups are left on for approximately 10-20 seconds at a time, as this still has the same effect but doesn't leave such dark colour marks on the skin.

Fu Bu Anmo
(Stomach massage)

In basic terms, this is a stomach massage which has a wide variety of indications and uses. It balances the physical body structure by direct treatment of the Psoas muscles, it detoxifies the organs, helps to improve the oxygenation of the bodily system by balancing the diaphragm, aids digestion, increases energy within the body, balances emotions and helps regulate bowel movement.

Acupuncture
(Inc. Electro-Acupuncture)

Acupuncture can be used to fix long-term internal problems, structural problems and to re-energize and restore balance to the body.

Acupuncture is thousands of years old and can be used to treat many different conditions in today's modern day lifestyle ranging from arthritis to skin complaints and pain relief is its greatest success, such as back pain or migraines etc.

Extremely fine needles are inserted into specific point locations on the body, which enhances the energy flow through the meridians to help regulate the body’s natural energy and keep people healthy and balanced.

Cells and the internal organs may start to dysfunction if the energy becomes blocked, leading to many different types of diseases and conditions. The benefits received from acupuncture are numerous. The aim is to regulate the body’s natural energy channels and to re-establish the energy balance of Qi and to relieve pain.

The needles are usually left in for roughly 20-30 minutes and the patient can relax during this time. It is possible however to experience a feeling of soreness, heaviness, numbness and distension during the insertion of the needles.

Depending on the persons complaint, electrodes can be attached to the ends of needles, (known as electro-acupuncture) in order to increase the stimulation by causing the needle to tremble inside the muscle. This is achieved using a low voltage battery operated machine and feels like a tingling/tapping sensation inside the skin, which is not painful but can feel a bit strange.

Hot Stone Massage Therapy

Hot stone massage therapy is predominately associated with beauty therapy, as it is thought to be a relaxation treatment. However this is not strictly the case. Hot stone therapy is a specialty massage that uses smooth, heated basalt volcanic stones that absorb and retain heat really well. The heat is both deeply relaxing and is very effective in releasing tight muscles and stagnation of blood in the muscles.

The warmth of the hot stones improves circulation and calms the nervous system. The massage therapist often begins by applying oil to the body, which allows the hot stones to glide smoothly along the muscles.

The stones can also be left in specific points along your pine, in the palms of your hand, on your belly, or even between your toes to improve the flow of energy in your body. The heat warms and relaxes the muscles, which allows the therapist to apply a deeper tissue massage without causing severe pain.

Muscular-Skeletal Diagnosis
(Kinesiology)

Muscular-Skeletal testing is a diagnostic tool commonly used for diagnosing a patient's structural and even mental problems.

It is used to build up a pattern of dysfunction, which can then be corrected by using gentle re-patterning techniques applied to the body, amending all physical imbalances and mental traumas.

All previous negative tests should hopefully then prove strong on a re-test, enabling the patient to see an immediate positive reaction from the treatment.
